Hi, I’m Maggie Murphy! I’m a Visual Art & Humanities librarian and assistant professor at UNC Greensboro, where I work with students and faculty in the School of Art and departments of Interior Architecture, Philosophy, Religious Studies, History, and Languages, Literatures, and Cultures towards the goal of ethical and critical information access, use, and creation. I also designed and teach a graduate LIS course on visual resources curation and art librarianship as a lecturer at San Jose State University’s iSchool. My pedagogical interests include exploring practice-based research methods for studio artists and using internet memes as a lens for interdisciplinary visual literacy instruction.
