MIRROR IMAGES (2025)
Mirror Images is a two-channel video installation of inscrutable, dream-like vignettes in which defunct digital devices and handheld toys impossibly play clips of VHS home video: a hybrid of contemporary nostalgia and 1990s techno-optimism through the lens of imagination. Like a child repurposing household objects into props for imagined worlds, I cast these small screens as portals, as if they could hold moving images they were never meant to display. In that gesture, the devices become collaborators in my make-believe, enacting a fragile continuity between obsolete hardware, childhood play, and the present moment.
It is presented on side-by-side iMac G3s running the original MacOS 9 software from 1998. The videos loop continuously in Quicktime once started, with sound alternating between the monitors.

SCREEN MEMORY (2025-26)
Screen Memory is a looping multi-channel video installation, which can also be presented as a single-channel video reel that alternates between a grid and individual videos.
The Freudian concept of a “screen memory” is a mundane, palatable childhood memory that stands in front of and conceals our actual, more complicated experiences of childhood. In these videos, I have used the tools of children (colored pencils, crayons, markers, stickers, and glitter) to materially-intervene into my own childhood memories as preserved on printed-out frames of VHS home video, surrounding my child-self with protective apparitions and granting her magical powers.
I have also created an alternate version of this project as a scored short film for film festivals, which is available for screening upon request.
