Hi, I’m Maggie Murphy! I’m a Visual Art & Humanities librarian and assistant professor in the UNC Greensboro University Libraries. I work with students, faculty, and curators in the School of Art, the departments of Interior Architecture, Philosophy, Religious Studies, History, and Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, and the Weatherspoon Art Museum towards the goal of ethical and critical information access, use, and creation. I also designed and (sometimes) teach a graduate LIS course on visual resources curation and art librarianship as a lecturer at San Jose State University’s iSchool. My pedagogical interests include exploring practice-based research methods for studio artists and using internet memes as a lens for interdisciplinary visual literacy instruction. I am a printmaker and textile artist.
